These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the purchase of Canterbury Honey products ("Products") through our website www.canterburyhoney.co.nz. By ordering, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and Terms of Website Use. Please read carefully before placing an order. Save or print a copy for your records.


1. About Us

  • Canterbury Honey (NZ) Limited is a family-owned New Zealand company producing premium Mānuka honey (MGO 83+, 263+, 514+, 829+, 1122+ and honey sticks).
  • Our Products are MGO-certified by MPI-approved laboratories, ensuring authenticity with QR code traceability.

2. Our Products

  • Product images on our website are for illustration. Slight variations in color or packaging may occur due to display differences.
  • Products are subject to availability. If a Product is unavailable, we will notify you by email and refund any payment within 14 days.
  • Customer reviews reflect independent opinions, managed by a third-party service. Health claims are not substantiated by Canterbury Honey unless supported by scientific evidence.

3. Ordering Process

  • Our website guides you through the order process. Verify your shipping address to avoid delivery errors.
  • Orders are accepted upon receipt of a Dispatch Confirmation email, forming a contract between us.
  • If a Product is unavailable (e.g., out of stock or pricing error), we will notify you by email and refund any payment, including delivery costs, within 14 days.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD), excluding GST and delivery costs, as listed on our website.
  • Payment is required in advance via debit/credit card or PayPal. See our Privacy Policy for payment data handling.
  • Prices may change, but confirmed orders are locked at the quoted price.
  • If a pricing error occurs, we will:
    • Charge the lower price if the correct price is less than stated.
    • Contact you to confirm or cancel the order if the correct price is higher. If we cannot reach you, the order will be canceled.

5. Delivery

  • Orders are dispatched within 2–5 working days from Dispatch Confirmation.
  • Delivery times vary by country. Check our Delivery page for estimated times and costs.
  • We use third-party couriers, sharing only necessary personal data (name, address, email) per our Privacy Policy.
  • Products become your responsibility upon delivery to the provided address, including neighbors, pick-up points, or mailrooms.
  • If delivery fails, couriers will leave a note to rearrange. Contact us within 14 days to resolve non-delivery issues.
  • Non-delivery or missing items must be reported within 14 days of dispatch. We may require a signed declaration to investigate.

6. Returns and Refunds

  • Under New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you may return faulty or misdescribed Products within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, including reasonable return costs.
  • You have a 14-day cancellation right from delivery for non-faulty Products, provided they are unopened and in original packaging (due to hygiene).
  • To cancel or return, email info@canterburyhoney.co.nz and return Products to:
    Canterbury Honey, Unit D, 1 Cebel Place, Rosedale, Auckland, New Zealand.
    Use tracked shipping; we are not liable for untracked returns.
  • Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the Product or proof of return, via the original payment method.
  • You bear return costs unless the Product is faulty. We may deduct for damage or use beyond checking the Product’s nature.

7. Product Certification

  • Our Mānuka honey is tested by MPI-approved laboratories for MGO ratings (Methylglyoxal content), with QR codes linking to Certificates of Analysis for authenticity.
  • Products meet New Zealand’s MPI Mānuka Honey Science Definition for quality assurance.

8. Consumer Liability

  • We are liable for foreseeable loss or damage due to our breach or negligence, per the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
  • Products are for personal use only. We are not liable for commercial use, loss of profit, or business interruption.
  • We do not limit liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or breaches of legal rights under New Zealand law.

9. Events Outside Our Control

  • We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, courier disruptions).
  • If affected, we will notify you and suspend obligations. Orders delayed over 30 days may be canceled with a full refund, including return costs for delivered Products.

10. Amendments to Terms

  • We may update these Terms due to changes in laws, payment methods, or operations. The latest version applies to new orders.
  • Check the Effective Date above to confirm applicable Terms.

11. Data Protection

  • We process personal data per our Privacy Policy and New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020.
  • We use appropriate measures to protect your data and will notify you of any material data breaches.

12. Other Terms

  • We may transfer our rights under these Terms to another entity with notice, without affecting your rights.
  • You may not transfer your rights without our written consent.
  • These Terms are governed by New Zealand law, with disputes subject to New Zealand courts.
  • If any clause is deemed unlawful, others remain in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a right does not waive it unless confirmed in writing.
